  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I rotate positions around the business on a 6 month or 1 year basis, so far this has entailed myself working in the Online team, Plastic Reduction team and Wholesale. Since the day-to-day role varies depending on my department, I will offer an insight into the work and responsibility to which I have been tasked with in team. Online team - here I managed the recipe platform, farmers & corporate website as well as looking after our location data, including store finder. In addition to this I was also working to support the wider Online team such as traders. Plastic Team - Throughout my time fighting to reduce our Carbon footprint, I liaised with suppliers and traders to implement new policy whilst trying to minimize financial impact on the business. Wholesale - During my time in the Wholesale team, I have been responsible for helping to expand the Food To Go proposition, managing manual allocation to store and worked closely with marketing to ensure that POS landed in store.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my programme, I have found it extremely fun, interesting 7 challenging enough to develop myself as a person. I could not recommend my course enough as an alternative to university, the study time also allows you to take a lot of time out of work, easing you into working life. I can also not recommend my place of work - Morrisons enough as a great firm to work for.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The Course is structured well with the support of Mentors, Buddies, multiple HR contacts, helpful line managers & support from the University. If I have an issue at work, I can easily find someone to approach & ask for help, whether this be in my immediate team or outside. I can also find help for my university work both inside work with my buddy ( somebody who has finished this scheme) or lecturer.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The degree is applied to my work, for example, when asked to complete coursework - I am asked to tailor it to my work place, this therefore enhances my knowledge of the business & as such my competency in the role. It has also helped me understand theories better which can be applied in the workplace.
