  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as a Tax analyst, which involves many things. No day is the same. During compliance season (Sept to Jan) it is mostly working on tax returns but otherwise it is billing, admin and working on client projects. I also run the modified payroll on some of my clients.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt and developed new skills such as communication, organisation and leadership. In general I feel like I have mostly developed skills rather than learning new ones.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I did not enjoy the apprecentiship programme as it was not organised well. If the programme was structed better and communicated well it would be much more enjoyable. I felt like I was always told things last minute and could not prepapre in order to deliver my best work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As stated above my programme was not well structred and therefore not enjoyable. None of my team members knew I was part of this programme and did not apprecieted the work I had to do outside of my normal day to day role. In summary my programme was not well organised

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Once my team knew about my apprenticeship they were able to be more supportive. I had to communicate this to my team. No information was provided by my employer to my team and therefore they were unaware of my tasks and responsibilities as part of the apprenticeship.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider was fairly supportive. Because the programme was disorganised it is difficult to determine if they were being supportive or not. I felt like I was not given the complete picture and a lot of the times the information was relayed late. I wish there was more communication.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I do not see how my apprenticeship qualification helps me with me perform better in my role. It has not changed or helped my day-to-day basis.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are extra-curricular activities to get involved with at work. I have signed up for football and netball. There are also work events. Work is also flexible so you can continue with your hobbies outside of work.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Deloitte to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because I think it is a good company to work for. The people are nice and supportive. I do enjoy coming to work and the variety of work I get to do in my role. Most days will be different so I am never bored. I've had a positive experience.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte?
  • Be yourself, be proactive, be responsible, take ownership and work hard. For the interview I think it is important to be keen and show that you want the job, but not to lie. It is important to be honest as people will appreciate your honesty. The onboarding process is straightforward.
