  • A lot. You receive support from your manager, line manager and the apprenticeship and graduate program team. I have also found that team members I work alongside with in my day-to-day role are also very keen to support my development, and will go the extra step to ensure this. Everyone is very supportive, and you can reach out for more help if / when you need it. • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lecturers and course leaders publish a timetable of out-of-office hours, where you can arrange to set-up an online Skype meeting with them, to ask questions or go over areas you are uncertain about. I have found them to be quick in there responses to emails and very engaging. Again, if you require more support, Aston University does offer this to you, as they want you to be your best.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • A lot. Almost everything that I study as a part of the degree I encounter in my day-to-day role as a software engineer working as a part of a delivery team. Studying the theory behind something and then being able to apply it in a real-world scenario really helps to consolidate your learning, and see how what we learn is applied in the industry.
