  • completing scheduled maintenance tasks on the rail way as part of a team, signing off such jobs, informing the relevant departments of any faults found on completing such tasks and inputting all relevant data from the tasks to all maintenance folders and/or maintenance data bases, both internal and external.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned a number of new skills including, how to operate a number of maintenance tools in order to complete tasks. A number of maintenance standards that have to be followed. Maintenance limits and exceedencees.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I find the programme very informative and relevant to the job I hope to have on completion of the course. The course is supportive of anything I need help or advice with.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Well structured. I am given a good amount of time to complete all written and practical aspects of the course. Clear instructions are always given to me on how to complete all tasks.

  • As much support that is needed from any aspects of life, from personnel or work life.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • All aid is provided. Any questions I have are happily answered and are encouraged to be asked and are answered fully.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Much better. I have to frequently complete rail way relevant courses that require me to complete practical railway tasks and written tests that are completed by all rail way employees. many of these course providers are ex apprentices, which helps for obvious reasons.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Rail live is an event that a number of staff attend. which is a rail way event where all external contracting companies come and present their equipment that can be used to complete a number of jobs within the rail industry.

  • Yes

  • Do basic research on the company from the website, specifically the apprenticeship website. prepare answers for your interview using the method of STAR.
