  • I had to shadow finance lawyers during the work experience week at Hogan Lovells. I kept a diary and got the chance to ask them questions.

  • I learnt that during university, you could choose any subject to study, therefore it's not necessary to study law at university in order to become a lawyer.

  • I enjoyed the programme because there was a wide range of tasks we were told to complete. For example, we had to work as a team to create a presentation about finance law.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Hogan Lovells?
  • We were valued as members of the programme because we were given support if we required it and we were also provided with a booklet containing all the information that we need for the entire work experience week.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was well organised because the manager gave us a tour around the law firm before we started the week and we were provided with pens, papers and an information booklet.

  • The training provider gave us all the support that we needed; for example, he/she would answer any questions we had.

  • The employer also provided us with support if we had experienced any problems.

  • The costs was reasonable because I didn't spend too much for transport as Hogan Lovells is quite local to where I live.

  • There were a wide range of opportunities outside of work; for example, there was a library nearby and a gym.

  • Yes

  • Because the staff members are all friendly and it was a good experience working with finance lawyers.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hogan Lovells?
  • I would advise that you should ask the lawyers about their personal experiences and all the steps that they had to take e.g. applying for universities, interview tips and how long the process was.
