  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my apprenticeship I will log into my computer and then load up my prompts, mycustomer, UIS and emails. These are all of the things that I will need to use in my job throughout the day. I will then take calls from customers through the day making amendments to their policies or passing them through to the correct department.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The extent that I enjoy the programme varies daily as I take many calls that can be difficult however I am able to get over this as I have team around me that are able to help answer my queries but the difficult calls can make some days stressful. However, a lot of days the calls are easy and the day can be enjoyable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I believe that the programme is well organised and structured well because meetings and training time is scheduled weeks before it happens so you will always know whenever you have to do anything for the apprenticeship. Also all details for necessary websites was sent to our email with all of the details wee needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We receive a lot of support from my training provider as we have scheduled meetings with them so they can help us if we need it and they are always there through email as well if we have any questions about the qualification or if we need any extra support to help us pass the exam.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • From the qualification so far I have gained a lot of knowledge about insurance therefore my experiences in this job I have noticed I have used the knowledge from the book for different situations for different calls as the book has given me a lot of knowledge about insurance so sometimes I use that rather than ask my team leader.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There isn't any extra curricular activities to get involved in at work. however, this is okay as there are many benefits that the company do provide to its staff to insure that they can still get active together. This means although there is no extra curricular activities there are still things you can do as a team.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Direct Line to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Direct Line to a friend as they are a company that care about its staff. The reason that you can tell this is because they offer many discounts on internal services and external so that you as a employee can get the best services from every company.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Direct Line?
  • I would tell others applying for direct line to research into the business and fully understand them and the job role as I wasn't fully aware of the job role when I first started. Also to make sure their knowledge of insurance was at a good standard as it will benefit them for the job
