Enterprise Apprentice - Some of the opportunities were great, always going out on business, meeting important people in big succesful businesses, but apart from that it was full of false promises. "You'll be doing this and we'll get youtrained up to do that" they said. Yet after countless weeks of telling me this for 8 hours a day all i ahd to do was reply to a couple emails, post countless amounts of jobs and retweet relevent things on their twitter page. Not really the most exciting and rewarding role.
During my time working at Apprenticeships in Scotland I have learnt alot of new skills and gained that extra bit of confidence that I needed.
There were some parts of worknig there that I really loved. Working at Skills Scotland was one of them, but other times I used to dread going in due to how tedious it was. Yes for a big part of the role you had to "use your intitative" but you cant expect that of someone who has just started and barely knows their way around the office.
The management were great. They were so supportive as I had some family issues at one point and they made me feel like they were always listening but, there were two other apprentices working there, who for their age were amazing but it was too much all about them and I felt like a few other work colleagues and myself were getting pushed to the side and forgotten about.
I had an advantage to compelting my apprenticeship as my training provider also worked with us so meeting with her was regular and easy to organise. I felt like it was quite well structured and organised.
I recieved alot of support as like I said previously, our training provider worked with us so she was always there if you needed a bit of help and we met with her on a regular basis.
I was always asking my line manager for help and to give me extra tasks as I really wanted to impress her but I felt like every time I asked it was a burden and that I was annoying her.
It was a standard amount and it helped me through the month but other people who had the same job title as me were getting paid more which I felt wasnt very fair.
Some, not alot as the qualification is not even a recognised Scottish qualification.
No
It is full of false promises, and there is too much of a feel of a pyramid scheme going on. If that changes though it would be an amazing palce to work.
The opportunities here are amazing.
