  • I have learnt to work as a part of a team when stripping down the engine as aparts are heavy and you have to work a s a pair to be able to lift them. I have also learnt to be more patient with things when I start to struggle as I know there is always someone who I can ask for help.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Sometimes it can be a little unorganised and unclear of what we are supposed to be doing when we are at work however, lately there has been a timeline put in place until the end of the year so we can identify what we are doing and when we will be doing it.

  • Yes, there is a navy boat challenge where you can volunteer to help making a small boat for it to be in part of a competition. This is done in teams of about 6 made up by people in different trades so that they can all merge their ideas together and receive the best possible outcome.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • They are a brilliant company to work for and include a lot of benefits such as the pension and share scheme. They are brilliant training providers and train us up properly ready for when we leave the training centre. They believe that we are the future of the company and so they spend lot of time, effort and money on us.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • It is important to have an open mind and be prepared to work with a mixture of different personalities as everyone I different. I would also say it is good to have a hobby and work well in a team as you will always be working in a team here so you need to be able to get along with everyone, even those you may not necessarily hang around with outside of work.
