I work closely with experienced engineers and make improvements and modifications to drawings using CAD software. This gives me the ability to constantly improve and I do not feel anxious to make mistakes as I learn from this. My days go fast as the atmosphere is great incorporating the flexible working hours it is perfect for me.
I have gained a wide variety of skills during my time and I wish to continue progression throughout my future career. Existing skills I have developed is the ability to cooperate and provide opinions in a professional manner. New skills would be the standard of my vocabulary and technical skills which improves my ability to deliver information to colleagues.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme as there is always new material and projects mitigating moments of boredom. in addition to this my colleagues have welcomed me and there is a good sense of humour in my work area which also prevents potential build-ups of stress and other work related problems.
There is an extremely beneficial programme in which apprentices are guided through tasks and projects which develops social skills - critical in any workplace. The beginner to winner programme has been constructed to allow apprentices/graduates to unleash their true potential, allowing apprentices/graduates to unleash their potential it has provided me with a stable pathway to success.
Within NNL their is endless support for various aspects of life's problems. In terms of a workplace problem there is a welcoming atmosphere and I truly believe that everybody wants me to succeed and they help me to do so everyday. From a different perspective any problems that may be happening outside of work can be explained to anybody within the company and they will appreciate your problems and help you find a solution.
Qualifications have a high priority and this is evident in the workplace. I feel as if I can communicate with my supervisor in order to discuss time on college work and he happily helps me with any tasks/problems I may have. Due to the volume of experience it is very rare that somebody cannot answer or advise when dealing with studies and work.
I believe that this is dependant on the individual. I have gained more knowledge in work than in college and this is only a compliment to my employer. Courses are related however I feel that work projects have developed me far more in a technical aspect than academic studies have.
There are several activities that are open to anybody within the company. For instance there is five-a-side football and also cricket. NNL heavily supports competitions for apprentices which is a platform to further progress from both a personal and professional viewpoint. There is a Facebook group for apprentices/graduates which highlights any events that are available.
Yes
I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and I truly do enjoy my time at work. I believe not many people can say that and for that reason I would recommend NNL to anybody who has ambition and a desire to learn. Friendly colleagues and challenging work creates an efficient company and it is satisfying to know that you contributed into a project and seeing that contribution in its physical from.
This is not an option for somebody who thinks 'oh I will just get an apprenticeship'. It is a very competitive role and requires a desire to innovate with enthusiasm and persistence. When applying list all achievements as some may not seem valuable to you but is a critical skill for an employer. For instance 'captain of a football team' this shows leadership and communication skills.
