  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My first year was an operations role. I worked closely with my area's gate leaders, line director and shop floor engineers. I had good relationship's with my colleagues as I had to liaise with them regarding their day to day activities and how this would be booked / managed in our companies SAP programme. I had to book hours / their leave, their sickness etc and make sure it was to GE's standards.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised / structured. My programme is three years in length and it's structured that we move different positions / job roles throughout the three years in order to gain experience in different field's within the business which is brilliant. We also complete an NVQ qualification within this time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We receive a lot of support from our apprenticeship leaders and also, each one of the apprenticeship pupils are each assigned a college mentor / tutor that we have regular meetings with in order to complete our programmes. This also helps to know what we need to improve on and what we are currently doing well.
