Apprentice Project Manager Review

Assisting to manage a variety of projects from station upgrades to multi billion pound track extensions. You are responsible for every aspect of the project including: communication, stakeholder management, finance, risk management and many more. You will be able to visit a range of sites, so you are ale to put learning in the classroom into real life situations.

I have learnt to manage a variety of people. I have learnt to communicate and adapt my skills depending on the situation in a placed in. I have learnt to work under pressure to successfully meet targets. My training provider has also taught me new skills whilst I have been studying for my qualification.

I enjoy the programme because it has a very large variety. It enables you to work wherever in the company you would like to, and work on a variety of different projects, in order to enhance your exposure. There is a great social side to this programme, as there is often networking events for all of the apprentices.

The programme is well structured, as it gives you four placements within the two years. This gives exposure to many areas of project management. Furthermore the qualification is learnt in week slots, which allows the individual to take in what they have learnt and apply it within the project. The programme gives you 20% of your work time which is dedicated to your coursework, giving you time to complete in within the given time frame.

The employer gives a lot of support, whether it is in the work place or out. The employers helps the individual throughout the process , whether it is gaining more exposure in some areas, or helping the individual for their exam. There is also a lot of personal support in the work place.

I have received a lot of support from the training provider. They will give you all of the resources you need to pass the exam. The tutors are very knowledgeable, and they are eager to help you improve on areas that are weak. The lessons are structured to make them engaging and to get the most learning complete in the space of time.

The qualification most certainly helps me to perform better in my role. It has taught me the key components to my role, and then has allowed me to use them in the work place to improve my projects. It also gives you the confidence that you are able to work professionally in a team and become a asset to the success of that project.

There are many social activities and networking events that are open to all employees. The apprentices and graduates also have these, were you are able to network with other apprentices and learn from their schemes. There are also many site visits that's apprentices can go on, which they are able to see some of the biggest projects that TfL have .
