  • opening up kitchen, Setting up for service and getting all the prep done that is needed. Cleaning to high standards, checking stock levels, ordering food. delegating team to complete any tasks necessary. cooking food according to spec book. checking reviews and acting on them as needed. Closing down kitchen and ensuring all the tsaks have been completed. finish business checks

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I changed my career from healthcare to hospitality and since have gained so many new skills and knowledge. Starting work in mitchell and Butlers have been the best decision yet. I learned new recipes and ideas I could use at home. Learned how to do stock and ensure you have all you need for service.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I absolutely loved the program. I was fully supported by life time training as well as my place of work. I have found bigger passion towards cooking and hospitality industry. I feel less stressed at work because I absolutely enjoy my work. People that i work with have made it 100% easier

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I did find program very well structured and easily accessible. But I did find program not well organised and not following learners speed. I was following all the paperwork and all observations but found that there wasn't enough appointments available so I went weeks without seeing my assessor and felt that i could have finished sooner if I was given opportunity.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I did find that my employer was very supportive of my learning journey. If i ever needed help on answering questions or fining my way through it programs I was always explained how why and where to find any information. People were very friendly and supportive if something took little longer than usually.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I felt that my training provider was excellent! Always at the end of an email or phone to help me through. If I needed more of paperwork to complete or if I was stuck on some answers. Nothing was ever a chore to help and/or explain anything. I felt very supported.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I learned better on how to spot quality checks for food, ingredients and how to improve my own and my team members performance during service. I learned how to get best flavors and consistency out of food. I learned different methods you could cook food and how to maintain quality of ingredients.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • as far as I know there isn't any extra curricular activities for team member to perticipate in out side of work hours. I have seen some opportunities for people to apply for job to be part of team that listen to and puts peoples ideas forward for them to be heard.

  • Yes

  • because mitchell and butlers are company where you can grow your passion, where you are listened to and supported through your journey. There are so many opportunities for you where you can develop yourself and explore your abilities in career. people are very supportive and happy to help if you ever need anything.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mitchells & Butlers?
  • Be yourself and show them your personality. show them everything you got to give to company and go extra mile when you can. If you are passionate about your job and future in hospitality then they will be here for you all the way. you have support on every corner.
