  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I will complete admin tasks to support financial consultants day to day, setting them up with the correct clients, changing addresses, completing subject access requests, setting up conference calls, hotels and travel. I have my few hours studying a day and take time away from my desk to concentrate with this.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • coming into a place of work like Wesleyan has allowed me to gain skills all over such as confidence, good organisation, teamwork. The company can never offer enough support and are constantly looking for areas to develop for myself. I've also become more independent, you do things for yourself but your not afraid to ask questions.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the routine of my work, from coming from sixth form it really makes your life change and everyone is there to support you. I have great relationships with colleagues especially a lot of other apprentices. I definitely see my career developing at Wesleyan and you are never stuck in one job or one tunnel if you aren't happy.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very structured. I have 7 hours a week to split between my coursework and my revision for an exam I've been put forward to do. I get a good work/study balance and split my time evenly. Wesleyan has a lot of opportunities to take any exams. My apprenticeship is 2 years and I have a lot of support if I need to go over things that I don't get.

  • There is a lot of contacts that I can depend on to give me advice, I'll either walk over to either my team or line manager or my mentor even anyone on my floor! I have monthly 1:1's and monthly catch ups with my mentor to support me in the process and to come up with objectives for my future progression and aims in the company.
