  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a daily basis I work with software to automate processes in the work place that will reduce time and money. This consists of technology such as Alteryx and Tableau which I have been trained on that allow me to build workflows and dashboards for internal teams. I also attend meetings and training regularly to ensure I am always learning and improving.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I had little IT and software knowledge before beginning my role as I had never had the opportunity to develop this. Now I am proficient in a range of software as well as an understanding of how to work in an office environment, from simple things to setting meetings to presenting in projects.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Extremely! I wanted to work but I love to study so this opportunity was the perfect combination. My team is amazing and the work is engaging and interesting so that I am always eager to get my next project. Although it was a big jump coming from Sixth Form I have adjusted well and am confident and looking forward to continuing my career.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Whilst there have been a few teething problems with the training provider, the overall course has been very well organised. We are given one day a week as a study day which allows us to focus on the study side and complete all the necessary slides and learning as well as coursework.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The topics of the courses are relevant to the work that I will be doing in my role as I progress. Although not always specific to me, what we learn is always applicable in some way and also allows us to up skill in a topic that may become useful to our teams.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Loads! In the first week I joined one of the netball teams and now get to play weekly matches with my new team. I also attend Women's Networking events where guest speakers discuss various topics, a great place to meet new people. We also have various socials and group outings as a team, as well as big events such as the Christmas party, all great fun.
