  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a Day to day I tend to complete many different activities. My day usually begins with answering emails from the night. I then will cold call at various points through out the day. I try to stay on the phone for an hour per day. Some days we have meetings with managers to review progress.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Previously, I have worked in face to face customer service. I have definitely developed my customer service skills in my role by dealing with a completely different customer basis. I feel as though I have also developed my phone skills. I now feel a lot more confident at holding a conversation on the phone.

  • I feel like I receive a lot of support from Softcat. It is made very clear if we have any concerns to raise them and somebody will always be there to help. It is also made clear who we need to report to and how different people can help us.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Remit is out training provider. So far they have provided us with a few sessions in our first few weeks at Softcat and they now provide us with one training session per month. This has been really beneficial for me and again it is made very clear to us how to do best in our course and if we ever need any help some body is always there for advice.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel as though doing this qualification helps me preform a lot better in my role rather than starting the job as a graduate. You can go at a much slower pace and really have the opportunity and time to learn a lot of information about sales and the way the company works.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At Softcat we have quite a few different extra curricular activities. This includes lots of different types of sports and team nights out every quarter. We also have an event called kick off every September. At kick off the company reviews all of the different achievements throughout the year and then you stay the night with the whole company in Birmingham.
