  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job title is a marketing apprentice and I work on lots of projects to do with different websites and how we show these to the public. I work on creating reports at the moment to see how people use our sites and see if we are getting the information we want out to the public. I will start working on more projects when we get our new budget in November.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • For my apprenticeship I am working towards marketing qualifications which are linked with Microsoft which will be great to have on my CV after my apprenticeship. I also get lots of training provided in work online and things that the company pay for me to go offsite and learn about the systems I am using.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme. The people I work with are really nice and helpful and I feel like I am learning a lot which will help me progress in the future. It exceeds my expectations as I feel it is such a nice flexible company to work for. The culture is great and everyone feels welcome

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Pfizer?
  • I feel very valued at Pfizer. They run an ownit programme so if you do something good you get recognition in front of everyone which is nice and also can come from people who are high up in management which is nice because usually you don't have any interaction with theme especially nice feedback.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The Pfizer side of the programme is very well structured with me having a clear programme and study route right from the start however the estio and cogent side is not very well structured as I can never get in contact with the people I need and therefore never get the answers I need to progress.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The lectures are very good and thorough and the learning content they give me is nice and informative however the people have been setting me tasks I don't understand and some that don't relate to my course and then I have trouble getting in touch with people to get help and find out answers.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel I get great support from my employer with all my colleagues always eager to help me if I need anything. If I need help they will put time aside with me and we will go through things I don't understand. It is easy to sort out as we are all in the same place and can ask face to face.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary is not great I can get by however for the work and travelling I do it is much lower paid than other apprenticeships. It does however pay for my training so there is a benefit in that but it is very difficult when I travel very far to pay for living and petrol.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • The opportunities are great. I get to do lots of offsites and things with my team. I get to take part in conference which is a massive event in any company. The company also offers an onsite gym and lots of gym classes that you can take part in as well as lots of other activities to get to know people.
