As a maintenance engineer I would start the day visually checking all parts of the plant to ensure everything is in good working order. My role included looking after boilers and water treatment mainly but I also had to do some bigger jobs such as gear box changing and checking oil and greasing
Yes I have learnt many new skills. The main ones are now that I am a qualified welder. I now use my welding skills nearly everyday at work and this is continually improving my skills.i also have an electrical background and my work has also encouraged me to further my knowledge it that industry too
I really enjoyed going Into work everyday and still work there now. I see this as where I will work for the rest of my life. The benefits of working here are great. The pay is brilliant and the people who I work with are all a good laugh too.i really enjoy it here
Very valued. I have monthly meetings to talk about my progress. If there is ever any thing that they have concern about then it would be rectified straight away between me and my manager. The best was to sort things is too have good communication with your employers. This way everything is sorted before things get out if hand
Very good structure college was brilliant. I attend college one a week in notti gham version chilwell. This college is a engineering centre and has brilliant facilities to allow me to learn to my full potential. The tutors are always helpfully and so is my assessor. I really enjoy learning at my current college
Lots. Every 6 weeks there is a onsite visit. My assessor comes out to view my progress every six weeks to make sure he is happy with how I'm getting on and to make sure my work are still meeting the requirements to the college. They always are but this has to be checked
All the support I want or need. Very valued. I have monthly meetings to talk about my progress. If there is ever any thing that they have concern about then it would be rectified straight away between me and my manager. The best was to sort things is too have good communication with your employers. This way everything is sorted before things get out if hand
Very good wage at my work more than others for my age. Many of my friends laughed when I said I would be getting £100 PER week and they were getting £300 but they are now on that wage forever and now I'm earning on average 800 per week. The little bit of effort at the start really pays off in the end
Not really
Yes
Good money and great place to work and learn
