  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Everyday we would meet people who would tell us that we were shadowing them that day and we would go to their specific office and meet the people that they would also work with. We get to choose whether ot work on our own projects or shadow what our person would be doing and it mostly depends on when our upcoming projects are due or how big they are which dependson how much you persoanlyl want to take on.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have very much gotten better at my time management skills which is soemthing that's very much important in a compnay like AGA since they expect you to manage your own time and get the work done by yourself without people having to contantly check up on you and see how far youre getting along with any reports or minutes since everyone is pretty much quite self sufficient in those terms.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It was a thoroughloy enjoyable programme since evryone was really kind to us. Plus the fact that we were able to leave a tad bit early in the day before rush hour was really handy and useful and a really good touch and just showed that they cared about us even thought they were paying us a little bit they weren;t trying to make us work too ahrd or not enjoy ourselves during the learning process which was quite ncie.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by AGA?
  • We'd engage in our daily check ups with the boss who would make sure that we were having fun but he also appreciated the fact that we were there even thoughmake sure that because were there for the work experience that we were getting enough work done and were learning enouhg in order for us to be educated in the sector and we were able to make sure that our projects were all up to date and were coming along nicely.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the work experience programme was quite structured since there was a clear outline of what we were doing that day and when it would happen. There was also a timetable given to us on the first day which helped us to prepare ahead of time and know when our presentations or set meetings were which was quite helpful.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My buddy really was amazing for me since I would have a face to face meeting every week to discuss my progress, any issues I am having and presentation work that I can complete, despite the fact that they are so busy doing their work. I would have a conference call every week to again discuss how I am progressing, any work I may have and any issues. I am constantly set work and receiving really useful and helpful feedback.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a big amount of support from the employer. They are very involved in my work experience with helping me to find more meetings as well as making sure that the progress I am making on the programme is good for me. I also get time out of my daily responsibilities in order to sit with specific teams that may develop my understanding in certain sectors of the programme that I may be interested in.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • We didn't get paid for the two weeks due to it beign a work experiencec. However, the company did allow to pay for travel costs which was quite helpfuls sicne the commute to the company office and other places would get a tad bit pricey hence this was a nice touch that I appreciated.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are quite a few. The office that I worked with were quite friendly and they seemed like they were all somehow friends with each toher and they would meet up outside of work to socialise and have fun. Sometimes this woudl go out as a business expense such as sports days or bsuiness helping schemes to help them to become friends with colla=eagues they may not necessarily know already.

  • 9. Would you recommend AGA to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is an amazing company which I believe that the culture and dynamic in the company is absolutely of a different class. It feels like we're all part of a family since everyone is so kind to easch other and piping in for each other's success rather than their being some sort of industry competition and egos. All my colleagues are always willing to help each other out and the opportunities for promotion and to progress is brilliant.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AGA?
  • The application process is quite grilling but it's definitely managemable. I know this sounds cliche but as long as you be yourself and they see that ypu're passionate about the company they're just really happy to have you on board and have you learn so much about the bsuienss which is absolutely amzing because you feel so valued from the company.
