  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • usually in the mornings, I was in the finance side of the business so we would meet our buddy of that day that we were going to be following and shadowing and we'd shadow what they were doing that normally for that day. This includes any meetings or general tasks that they would do in their sector.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have definitely increased my presentation skills and I know that I have been told that in this field, presenting is one of the most important skills that you have to attain.Communicating with other people has also definitely developed a lot due to being in meetings and being in a formal environment.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It was brilliant since the organisation and structure was followed by all colleagues. Also we definitely felt as if we were wanted which was quite warm and helped me to realise that AGA company really cares about you and everyoen their was so sweet and clearly really liked the jobs that they were doing which was interesting and beneficial to see.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by AGA?
  • We would have our daily meetings with the manager so what he would do is make sure that we were having fun but also learning at the same time in order for us to become well-rounded. Moreover, none of us felt like we were stopping the other employees from doing thier jobs when we were shadowing them which was a great feeling.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme had a clear timetbale which was followed meticulously. It was quite helpful since we knew what we were going to be doing that days. For example, there was a presentation to be done on Wed and we knew we had to be dressed up formal and had brought notes in order to prepare and know what we were doing and on what floor we'd be.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The people that helped to allow me to shadow them were so hepful and useful in the fact that they were kind and willing to share their experiences and insights rather than not tell me which I am very grateful for. However, the traning could have been a tad bit mroe detailed since it was pretty much only pulling from experfience rather than direct training.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • They was quite a big amoutn of suppor tthat I had received which was amazing. The employers are quite involved in what I was doing since they allowed me to ask for meetings with other fields and sectors and also asked on my behalf sicnce they were more senior and well known in the company than I was which was so incredibly helpeful.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • We did get paid for the few weeks that I was working in the company however it just about covered the costs of my travel. We also had to do other travelling from the office to clients using our own money which was a tad bit of a hassle but at least we didn't need to live in the area so we didn't go into a loss which was quite lucky for us.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There wasn;t really many so although I said that everyuone felt like a family unit and was kind and supportive of each other I would've thought that they may have chosen to meet up outside of work or had team building exercises or the sort but this seems was not the case. I think they have christmas parties as offices usually do but not too many things happen outside of the work place which was a shame.

  • 9. Would you recommend AGA to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The company is always rooting for your success and it feels like veveryone is in for the team's success rather than individual goals. This is lovely to see since the dynamic of the company and chilled out attitide and environment just mnade veryone comfortable and I think even increased thier productivity which is always a great bonus.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AGA?
  • Make sure to come accross like you're really enthusiastic for the company. Don't be too generic with your answers maybe add some facts so that they know and feel like you've actually done some research so AGA is a very importnat company to you and that this means a lot because the information is invaluable and experiences are so unique its great.
