  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On the Monday, all the students taking part from the south met in one of the London offices. We got split into groups of 7/8 and got a introduction to PwC, we were also given laptops and set a group project for the week to work on. On Tuesday I had arranged to met with my buddy at another London office and got taken up to the tax floor and was sitting on a table with my buddy and his team. There was a meeting going on which I got introduced in to the rest of the tax team, which made me feel welcomed. Until Thursday I worked on my computer whilst my buddy set me tasks to do such as excel spreadsheets which I enjoyed doing as I felt like a Member if staff at PwC. My buddy had set up meetings with various people in the tax department which I was extremely gratefully for as I was able to ask questions and get different opinion about the company and the job. On the Friday we all met up in the same office in London we shared experiences with our group memebers we finished off our presentations and then presented it our family memebers gather and watched. PwC told us about future opportunities with them.

  • Okay, everything was great until the Friday where we sat around for 4 hours with time they’d given us to prepare our presentations we hadn’t been told we would be given this time so we had finished it in the week and we just sat waiting for no reason I would of preferred to spend the day working with my buddy and got more experience working with pwc

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I was based in London office so I got paid £10.20 a hour for a 37.5 hour week which is pretty good, however people based in southern offices got paid around £6 It gave the week an extra perk as it made it feel more like I was actually working for PwC and they were treating me like a actual staff member

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I was invited to a staff social that was rounders at a local park, however the weather changed and we then changed to a wine bar and I was unable to go as I was underage

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I really enjoyed my experience and if you know that you want to work for one of the big for it’s amazing to set up opportunities and get a great insight into what working for them is like

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Stay calm and relax and even if you think you haven’t done well, just breath, on the assessment day I completely messed up on the group speaking, however I put in my writing that gaining confidence at public speaking is something I want to work on whilst at pwc, therefor I believe that helped me get through. Be yourself and don’t make up stuff because they’ll tell just let your passion for what you want to do show
