  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I didn't have an overall role as such however on a day-to-day basis I spoke to employees within EY about their service line and found out what they did. I also completed tasks given to me by the staff at EY.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt better communication skills and EY offered virtual sessions on ways to improve your business writing etc.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I did enjoy my programme as it has allowed me to gain an insight into what it is like to work for EY and all the different service lines there are which I didn't know existed before.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by EY?
  • I felt valued by all the staff at EY. Everyone I met was very friendly and welcoming and didn't make you feel like you was a lot less experienced than them, they treated me like one of their colleagues.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I had times within my work experience where I didn't really have much to do however on the first day you have an IT induction training and a welcome session to EY which are all over skype. Support was offered if needed and I was provided with a buddy at the start of the week.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • As it was only work experience I didn't really have a need to receive support from a training provider however the online inductions helped clarify what you needed to know.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support was available if needed, however I didn't really need to receive support as I was only there for a week therefore wasn't working on a big project or anything which would require help.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Travel costs are not covered, you are expected to make your own way to and from the office however you do get paid for the week which helps cover the costs.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are many events which EY hold for their employees however as I was only here a week I didn't get a chance to experience these.

  • 9. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • EY offers a very friendly working environment and the Business Academy enables you to gain a better insight into what it would be like to be a school leaver.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Make sure you prepare for the telephone interview, have notes in front of you to refer to and do research into what questions other people were asked to enable you to get an understanding of what may be asked.
