  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • During the Business academy programme I worked within a range of roles within the EY tax department. I was given a range of tasks throughout the week which gave me a real insight into life at EY. I moved from international tax to the energy sector and was given tasks relating to the field. There were also lots of informative presentations and meetings about options at EY.

  • I have learnt more about excel spreadsheets and how to import and export data to form timesheets for clients. I have met a wide range of people which has improved my levels of experience within a proffessional environment. I enhanced my time keeping skills with the daily meetings and presentations I attended as well as my presentation skills.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by EY?
  • I felt very valued by EY and the teams that I worked in. We were all given a Buddy and a counciller who were both very helpful. I was taken out for lunch many times during the week and introduced to many members of staff which made me feel valued and part of the team at EY. All tasks that i completed were appreciated.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was very well organised and structured. Each day we were given a diverse range of tasks to complete which were well thought out and very insightfull. The beginning IT induction was however slightly unneccesary in places due to the fact that we were not going to be permanent members of staff at EY.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The travel for me was standard train costs around £2.55 each way and so the payments which I received met these costs well. The Programme was local for me so there were no living/ accommodation costs meaning that I was paid above my costs for the week which was great..
