  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role within Arena International was Operations Assistant. This meant that i had to run our smaller events to put it simple. When organizing and subsequently running an event i had to look a multiple aspects of the product. An example of this but not limited too: Branding for the event and making sure it was signed off and printed out priory to the event. Reaching out to the speaker, delegates & sponsors confirming there attendance and if required chase them up for information i required for the event. Such as speaker bio & photos. Sponsor's delegates names, job titles etc. Setting up and administering the events costs & finances. Raising POs and making sure that invoices are paid to suppliers

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my customer service skills within this role. I originally started out working in the hospitality sector which also carries a focus within that industry. At Arena international as i was dealing with paying delegates and sponsors making sure that they got the most out of there time was paramount. Also coming into this role my attention to detail was terrible and working at Arena international has allowed me to improve upon it. Not saying that I'm perfect yet but i know that they have given me the foundation

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Being able to be throw into a working environment and expected just to crack on is a great experience and the ability to to fast track your way in is helpful

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Working at Arena international is a good pairing to my apprenticeship course as it is heavily business administration focused and as my apprenticeship course is Business administration is allowed me to use my experiences within the company in my course work. Although as this is a good meet that actual apprenticeship provider seemed to fail on there part as during my time at Stepforward i had 5 different tutors over the course of the year

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Step forward provided quite slow and poor training when in regards to the coursework. I was essentially given the mark scheme at the being of the year and worked with that. When i did have lessons they were slow and uninformative. Information provided to me within 2 hours could of easily been condensed down into 1 hour sessions.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer made sure that i had time during the day to make sure i had time to complete my coursework as well as always accommodating the tutors who came in for visits.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • This was fine, i still don't agree with the apprentice wage i believe it should be higher.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Due to my role within Arena International i believe this was the main reason i got into University as my personal statement was purely quoting what experienced working within the organisation

  • 9. Would you recommend Arena International to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend apprenticeships as a whole but i wouldnt recommend my provider as they contunily let myself and my peers down but i have heard that not all providers are not like that.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arena International?
  • Just make sure that your always open and air any views of concerns you might have. At the end of the day everyone's there to support you and don't want you to fail.
