1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am currently a Leathershop Apprentice at Rolls-Royce Motor cars, my job role at the momant is to currently work how the different zones throughout the leathershop operate and to understand the process the cars go through to finally end up as a finished product, i start work at 6am til 2.30pm on a Monday, Tuesday and Friday and then spend Wedneaday and Thursday at Chichester College doing a level 3 Upholsetery course. My main own throughout my apprenticehsip is to make an impact on the different zones and for them to not want me to leave as i was helpful, towards the end of my apprenticeship i will have more of an opportunity to understand the management side of the leathershop and how to do a management role.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have learnt new skills in very different placement as all zones are very different, i will also developed a lot of scoail skill sand learning how to communicate with people in an apporopriate way in order to produce the best quailty work.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have really enjoyed my apprenticeship and have really enjoyed meeting new people and developing skills that i never thought i could develop, it is a lot harder work than what i expected but this is still a plus for me as it has defenatly made me a lot more mature and make me realise what the real world is like. My attitude towards work is also very positive. Everyone i have met so far havce been so supportive and helped me learn and develop as much as possible.

4. How valued do you feel by BMW Group?

i feel very special at rolls and feel like i am always made part of the teeam, i have weekly and monthly meetings to check on my progress and to check if everything is okay and whether i need any support in anything, every issue i have had has been resloved very quickly and has made me feel like my opinion matters, managers have also made a big effort to ensure that all apprentices are going in the right direction and are to have a very positive future at rolls-royce.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

my structure is very well structured and i have a set out timetable of where i am ment to be at what time throughout the year i have moved around the leathershop and the timetables enables me to be able to see how many more weeks i have in a certain zone and where i am going too next, it also lets me know where pother apprentices are if so some reason i couldnt find them, we also have a specific requirement for eavh zone that we must be able to do by the end of the 2 month placement, for example this coould be to cover a valance for a RR5/6.

My training provider is [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and she is always acessable to us if we ever need her, she works on core shift so we always see her desk is in theleathershop so we always see her, she also attends all our meetings and trys to sort out any issues for us these could include college issues or internal issues.

our wage is extremely good for apprentices and and my salary meets my cost very well, although i do cureently live at home with my parents so i dont have big bills to pay my current costs are travel to and from work, food costs and obviously the rest would ethier be saved or used to my leisure.
