To safeguard our customers and to meet their needs and preferences, this includes carrying out personal care, assisting with meals, reading careplans to ensure person centre care is always given and meets the need of the customers
I have been on several courses and completed online modules, really enjoy dementia training, helps me in my role as a care assistant to support our customers
I enjoy it alot, it is hard work but very rewarding, i have a great team supporting me
Yes very, they have a really great apprenticeship programme, home managers are very supportive
I had an induction day all about the apprenticeship before I started, the whole programme was explained to us, we where also given what the whole 15 month would look like and included apprentice away days where we meet up with other apprentices
We have currently switched over to a new provider, they are really working hard to support us, very helpful and supportive.
we have buddy on each shift who we work alongside, a mentor in the workplace and also previous apprentices are also mentor who text and call us. We also have an apprentice advisor who is very helpful and always response immediately
Very happy with my salary plus we get a very generous travel allowance that helps pay my bus pass each month
Yes, we go to other locations and carry out activities with other customers, we volunteer at other locations, we can attend career fairs if we wish

Really good programme, great first step on the career ladder, its not like sitting in a class room, great experience for someone
Not be nervous just do it, the interview and assessment days are good experience and everyone so friendly and supportive
