  • 4. How valued do you feel by BMW Group?
  • I dont necessarily feel an integral part of the business, we dont have a great deal of responsibility nor is there much if any appreciation internally from managers or externally from the college.

    4/10

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure is okay, however the organisation could be improved, it is only as the programme has gone on i have realised the study units that are required for completion, not alot was explained at the start of my apprenticeship.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We do not receive a great deal of support, the programme is mostly self led, we have a smaller portion of time to complete our work than others within our college class. But it is there if we really need it.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is reasonably supportive, should we seek help it is usually available.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is good for an apprentice wage, it could be slightly improved upon though as it is a flat rate for all apprentices that is increased each year depending on performance. Perhaps a financial incentive to reward good study results could be introduced as we do not receive bonus payments like the rest of the business. This could help supplement travel costs incurred.

    5/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There is not a great deal of opportunity for activities outside of the workplace.

    5/10

  • 9. Would you recommend BMW Group to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The company is good to work for, it supports its apprentices reasonably well and likes to encourage development into integral roles within the business when apprenticeships are completed.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • The application process is reasonably hard, but stick through it ! If you are successful and begin studies you may feel detached from the business, but keep at it and through summer holiday periods you will feel more integrated into the business.
