  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Excel is the biggest skill I have learned in this job so far. It is one of the greatest organisational tools & data manipulator to access many things you may need to do. I have developed my organisation and etiquette skills while being on the apprenticeship. Organisation has been developed by learning new ways of dealing with important to less important information e.g. filing emails & tasks from important and urgent to less important and less urgent.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I very much enjoy the apprenticeship programme I am on. I believe the work given reflects the true ability of an apprentice surveyor. The team I work in are a very supportive and encouraging team. Never will anybody push an apprentice aside to do something else. The team are very approachable and encourage questions. The company are a great company and this is reflected by benefits and support given by the company and its teams. Much of the company culture is around socializing and all encourage us to join in with team activities and gatherings. This has completed surpassed my expectations and am thoroughly enjoying the programme.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Cushman & Wakefield?
  • I feel Cushman & Wakefield value all levels of staff from apprentice to CEO. The company's ethos is much revolved around putting clients first and being open, honest and approachable. 1 month ago from today, all apprentices were invited to meet the global president of the company at his request. All levels of employment in the company are appreciated by all. No one is better than another. The CEO & Global Presidents office doors are always open. My line manager values my support and team value my contributions. One project I was on involved me tracking down a clients phone as they misplaced it while in a cab. We traveled from one side of London to the other and eventually found this. This 'value add' was appreciated from the client and company.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Our course is excellently structured and has additional training on top of our great university course. We had a great induction week which following a session where all the apprentices were taken to a popular activity centre within London to get to know each other more. We have a mentor system which a mentor is allocated to us from a different part of the business to guide us through any professional questions/additional support we feel we may need from other parts of the business. Studying is greatly organised as there is a set 5 year plan and additional support for exams and coursework such as study leave & helpful surveyors to read through coursework. All apprentices catch up every quarter via either face to face meeting or some face to face and some on a skype call. This is great to provide feedback to all and advice on concerns and worries.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive a huge amount of support from my training provider. My tutor is very approachable and always easy to reach. The accessibility of my training provider regarding concerns/questions of exams, coursework and clarification is second to none. Attitude towards supporting is very good and seems to be in the nature of all the tutors and lecturers nature. They seem to have a key skill of opening themselves up to be approached and asked questions.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer supports me considerably. My line manager always addresses concerns I have and one recent one with my work load was solved by taking some of this away. Openness, honesty and being supportive is in Cushman & Wakefield's blood. The HR team are great at checking in on apprentices, improving the standard of talent and support given and guide us incredibly when we/ if we face a challenging situation. There is always somebody for a specific query and support in all aspects such as IT, business management etc. is set out clearly and consistently delivers.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My benefits package is good. Salary I believe is the only thing that Cushman & Wakefield can improve on. I believe they are very generous with their benefits however, London is not a cheap place. Living costs are very high, travel costs are high and daily costs are also high. Cushman & Wakefield to fund many team events which may total up to a very expensive night out so this is a good part of the cost. However, I do believe the workload and effort apprentices give to the company, they do deserve an increased salary. The salary and benefits overall is very good for an apprentice straight out of sixth form/college.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are a huge number of opportunities outside work. Many are sport related but there are other events which Cushman & Wakefield put on that are great and support local communities, employees and the company image. Cushman & Wakefield fund many different events including the national apprenticeship show, help for the homeless, sports academies and match any charitable donation which is raised by any group/individual fundraising outside of the workplace.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Cushman & Wakefield is a great place to develop a career in the property industry. They offer a great range of training, great people, good benefits and an industry which will support the development of young apprentices.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cushman & Wakefield?
  • Be yourself & make sure your personality shines. Network with anyone and everyone. This is a very open industry and everybody is the same. Apprentices can have personal talks with the global president and CEO if they want and this can be a catch up or general work. Assessment centre will involve tasks which require team work. Work well in a team and the assessors will love you. I would like to have been told more about how I can look good in an interview and this is it...Be yourself, be transparent, inspire others and you will be successful.
