  • - Calibrating, maintaining and troubleshooting different types of continuous process equipment. - Organising different spread sheets for department. - Chemical testing to support larger projects. - Running of a department task board.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have. At the moment I am working towards a foundation degree in chemical science which has taught me a lot about, lab skills, business improvement, health and safety skills and chemistry theory. The work at GSK has also taught me time management and process improvement skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme a lot because it keeps me busy. My daily tasks also change quite frequently which means I don't get bored of doing the same thing everyday. My team are also friendly and easy to communicate with.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by GSK?
  • I feel very valued because I am used a lot to complete different tasks at the workplace and my manager has regular meetings with me to issue jobs and monitor my development.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is structured well but sometimes it would be good to have more information about the structure of the final year. However my training, support, meetings and team hierarchy can't be improved.

  • I receive a lot of support from my tutor for development.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager provides me with a lot of support because he organises regular meetings to monitor my progress and development.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary gives me enough money for food, petrol, finance on car, daily and social costs and still allows me to save £450 of it each month.

  • Yeah there are some but I wouldn't know much because I haven't looked into non-work related events.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Working at GSK has many benefits because it is such a big company so you get access to things like the pension and share scheme. The values GSK have ensures that all the employees are nice to talk to and easy to build relationships with.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GSK?
  • Be yourself, try your best to communicate effectively, revise the GSK values and use this values throughout the whole application process.
