  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am the corporate affairs apprentice based in the colleague and community engagement team. My role on a day to day basis revolves around project support, helping with our internal communication channels and admin tasks.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have become more confident and gained various new skills such as understanding how people work differently and adapting to there personailty needs in order to get the best out of people. I have become better at presentations and am able to take leadership on projects and tasks. I have become better at time management and am able to stay organsied when times can become high capacity.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my apprenticeship as i feel i have gained such a valuable experience that will benefit me throughout the rest of my career. I have an excellent team who are very supportive and are always happy to help or get me involved in new opportunities. The compnay itself has a great work ethic and culture where i feel comfortable in.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Pfizer?
  • I feel like a valued member of Pfizer. They do not treat me like a 'typical apprentice' and i am often gaining internal recognition by not only my team but other colleagues aswell.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say my apprenticeship is flexible and i am able to be flexible with my study to fit around my day to day job. My manager is supportive of the fact that i do have to study aswell as work and i am able to block out times in my diary to concentrate on my assignments.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My training provider is supportive and they come into the office once a month to review and chat about work and can have the face to face discussions abouty any questions i may have. They are also quick at responding to my emails so i never feel like i am waiting around for further guidance.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is more distant but is always quick to respond to emails. They come in every quarter to access my progress.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I would say that my wage is a lot lower than the average salary of people my age. I am lucky that i live close to the office and so my petrol costs arent to heavy.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Within Pfizer they run a programme where i became a STEM ambassador and i am able to volunteer in schools and inspire children. i also have a good social life and so find i have a good work-home life balance.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great company to work for within many paths that people can take. Everyday is different and so you never feel bored.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pfizer?
  • make the most of the opportunity dont be afraid of big corporate just be yourself throughout the application
