  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My current role is a Performance Tester which means that I am performance testing a website and ensuring that everything about the website meets all of the requirement set by the clients. I create scripts and scenarios - and then run tests which need to be analysed for the results. I am responsible for making sure that the pre-test conditions are always met to ensure a successful test since they can take up quite a lot of time (2-3hours per test)

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Accenture?
  • I think as an apprentice you are definitely valued by Accenture - there are often events that recognise peoples success and even within your own projects you are often given praise for things that you accomplish.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the structure of the programme is good in theory - but when it comes to carrying it out it can become quite difficult. We work full time which means that we don't get much time to study for our degree unless it's outside of the working hours - which can be quite hard for people that travel to/from work and only have a few hours of their day left when they get back. The training is definitely quite good and you can always find different things that you may want to learn about. One of the things that I'd say is quite organised is the Degree apprenticeship changing from 2 years to 3 years after being halfway through everything.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Similar to the skills coaches, we have career counselors that can help you with any questions that you might have regarding your career. You can also always seek help from other resources within Accenture such as your own project manager and the HR team.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The current salary that we have is quite good - but since we are based in the middle of London it can get quite difficult at times. The travel costs are the most expensive for me since I live outside of London and they definitely add up over the year.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are always events going on and being planned - and if you dont see an event that meets your interest then you can always suggest it or even plan it yourself.

  • 9. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I think Accenture is a great way to start your career, and you have so many different options on what to work on. Having the ability of rolling on/off projects means that you are able to work in many different fields and meet many different people which will help you grow your career in the future. The training that is available also lets you improve your own knowledge about the topics that you find interesting, and as long as you can manage the balance between work and studying then this is a great option.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • Just be confident and show your interest in the technology field. If you have a passion for wanting to learn and working with the latest technology then you shouldn't struggle with anything.
