  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Apprentice Surveyor in the Retail Investment team. Daily schedule can consist of writing report sections for properties, on site measuiring buildings, compling background info on assets to be bought or sold and meetinsg with clients on sales and acquisitions.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Developed my inderstanding of the industry, started to learn the main methods of valuating commercial property. Also enhanced my general business skills and office etiquette. Spend one day a week at university undertaking a BSc Real Estate and working towards my APC from the fourth year.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Work load is challenging but manageable- with uni workload taken into consideration. Great team and company culture- with all colleagues being willing to help you further your knowledge of the industry. Overall has so far exceeded my expectations.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Cushman & Wakefield?
  • Encouragement, constructive comments and praise all afforded by Line Manager and colleagues. Frequent opportunities to get involved in projects with a good level of trust and responsibility given. A few tasks may seem tedious but this is to be expected as an apprentice looking to gain experience.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • undertook a week of induction into the business as well as a week of uinversity induction. University structured well; with the woking day varying day-to-day. Business and talent development training is provided all year round- such as computer skills and client insight days.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Monthly catch up meetings with Apprentice group and tutor to go over our university work. Issues are usually solved by totor within a matter of weeks.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Great support from the Early Careers Team; with understanding of combining uni/work- quarterly catch up meetings with all apprentices as well as one to one support. Work colleagues also provide support- willing to go through practical training and examples to aid with training and development.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Salary is in line with rest of the industry at apprentice level. being located in London travel costs obviously take a sizable chunk of income. work social costs are mostly covered- as most junior employees colleagues typically cover yopur costs for work socials etc. Salary can be a tight squeeze if needing to rent in London area; however if wage is more than sufficient if living at home.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Great social side to work; with various industry events across the year; including networking and sporting events such as industry rugby, football and triathlon events. Company teams also participate in weekly netball and football leagues. Internal and external summer and winter socials take place on weekly basis which provides a great opportunity to network with others across the industry.

  • 9. Would you recommend Cushman & Wakefield to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Great company to learn and develop within the industry- mixing work and education well. Provides good social opportunites to network as well as allowing a good level of work reponsibility early on if you show you're hard working and dilligent.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cushman & Wakefield?
  • Go to the insight days put on before the application process begins. Try and get some sort of work experience beforehand- however this is not essential. In interviews always be yourself- the company appreciate genuine people.
