1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am an accounts trainee. I work on a wide range of accounts from sole traders to large corporate companies. I will work with the manager for the specific jobs completing internal account workbooks and preparing company accounts.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I came from a background of gardening so everything I have learnt is new and I am thoroughly enjoying it.I am currently on my way to completing my first year of AAT for level 3 before I start level 4 in September.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am enjoying every aspect of work.

4. How valued do you feel by BDO?

Very valued. I feel it took me a while to get into the swing of a 9-5 office job but now really enjoy coming to work.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

It has had its moments but everything has been running smoothly so far.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

The resources provided online have been more than satisfactory but the further help is always there if i need it.

As much as I need, from the small large things.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

I am currently saving for a house so in the current climate could always do with more, but I am comfortable while being supported by my family.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

There have been a few events I have been to and they have been great to spend time with colleges under social settings.

9. Would you recommend BDO to a friend?

Yes

It is a great working environment where the atmosphere is very relaxed while being a place to work hard and provide high quality of work.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BDO?

Be yourself and work hard. Enjoy every day with its new ventures. I came from a different route to anyone here at BDO around my level but it is your interests that can set you apart from the rest.
