  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as a corporate tax assistant which involves preparing tax computations for corporate clients. I work alongside managers, senior managers, directors and partners to achieve this. My role can involve liaising with HMRC and clients as well. I am responsible for ensuring our clients meet their obligations with regards to filing, reporting, paying on tax related matters. Every day I can do something different given the wide range and varied subject that is tax. I am mainly involved with compliance at this stage but I will eventually be dealing with tax advisory for clients as well.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Off to a difficult start as the apprenticeship staff are all in London and I am based elsewhere, however, I am now up and running and feel like the process has been reasonably smooth from an internal point of view. The external providers complicate matters by subcontracting work to each other
