My role at schneider electric involves moving around each area of the company gaining knowledge in each sector and been moved into a role that sees fit at the end of the 4 years.
Iv gained skills in the switchgear industry and all the different types of equipment schneider make. I have also gained knowledge through the courses that we take at college
The course is good but the chances of moving into a site based role at the end of the apprenticeship are quite minimual as most jobs provided to you are office based
They are putting me through the relitive courses i need to progress in the field of work i am working in so they are putting their time and money into my future.
The structure of the course could be better as when moving into areas you can be chasing work quite alot as there isnt really a plan for the months you will be in each area for.
Our tutour tries to come in as much as possible and when he does i feel as if the support and help is there but i personally think it would have been better if our training provider was closer to our work place so extra visits could be made.
I feel as the relitive support needed is givien and if you have any enquires there is always someone there that you can speak to. They also give me time at work to complete my college work
In the first year of the course i thought the wage wasnt that bad but as the years have progressed i feel the pay rises each year have been quite low compared to other companys and from the people that are doing similar courses to us at college.
There is a five aside match that is held on thursdays and but getting numbers for that are quite hard. There is also a 11 v 11 game that is held once a year against scarbrough. Apart from that there isnt really anything out of work to get involved with.
Yes
It would be a yes/no answer because if someone was looking for an office based job in switchgear then i would recommend the company, but if someone was wanting a more hands on job then i wouldnt recommend the company.
Pretty much what i said in the above question
