  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Billing assistant, my daily tasks include ticket clearing, billing, invoicing and emails. Internal interactions are often just within my team in the office. Most current external interactions consist with emails to insurances companies, sending over required information and documents. My main, consistent, responsibilities are to complete my billing to a high standard, manage the inbox, keeping it below a certain amount and balancing my apprentice work with my training at work. Everyday I do ticket clearing in the mornings, billing during the day, leading into the afternoon, then with whatever time I have left I go through the mailbox, doing what I have been trained on to get the inbox as clear as possible.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have a good team of supportive people, at a local office, with work that I've been able to grasp over the corse of the few months I've been here, and am confident what I don't know is easily learnable with the people I have to teach me. It was hard to adjust at first to the new environment (Having worked in mostly retail jobs prior) but I am now much more confident and am used to where I am now. I tried to have no expectations going in, as I always aim to high with them, but as stressful as it can get, It's been good.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Enterprise Mobility?
  • My manager is very supportive and has assisted in my training many times, as well as helped make the job as a whole easier for the whole team. I haven't done anything major for any big internal or external recognition, but my team has been very supportive and encouraging as I slowly learn the skills needed for the job. I have become more involved with the everyday/weekly task, able to do a lot of them with ease, but I still have a lot to learn. I do feel valued within the team.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My induction went quickly and smoothly, training has been the same, and support has been great. I've found my study easy so far, but am expecting the difficulty to increase with time. Otherwise it's hard to judge with how far into the apprenticeship I am, work wise.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Support from my tutor has been great, with her being very open, giving me plenty for time for questions and I can always email her with queries for a quick response. Her attitude has been perfect for my way of learning, so we've melded very well and am currently enjoying the course.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I don't travel a lot and my everyday spending I try and keep very low, so the salary has been good for me, and at this time can't complain.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are charity days, and continuous emails about opportunities throughout the company that you apply for, as well as many voluntary charity activities you can help out in. I choose not to take part in any of these, as I have been focused on my learning.
