  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • ▪ Working as a claims handler dealing with property damage claims both pre- and post-litigation. This involves dealing with claims from their initial letter of claim right through to settlement. This includes dealing with small-track and fast-track litigated matters where necessary. I also developed my legal drafting skills when drafting legal proceedings (particulars of claim, witness statements, replies to defence etc). ▪ Responsible for assessing the viability of claims where damage has been caused to Virgin Media’s property. Developed my problem solving skills to determine if and how to recover money for Virgin Media. ▪ Learned research skills when researching relevant case or statute law for claims. ▪ Developed my networking skills when engaging key stakeholders within Virgin Media. This would involve speaking to business partners, engineers, area managers, contract partners and so on.
