  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a vehicle trimmer in the trim development department, which is part of the desgin model shop. On a day to day basis I am never doing the same thing. I could be doing anything from carpeting a model to trimming a seat. This means i am constantly learning and taking on new challenges. I work directly with designers so there is a lot of responsibility involved in making sure they get exactly what they want in the models.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Before I came into this area I had basic skills in using hand tools but no experience in any interior trim development. I have been in plant for 9 months now and I am able to do a few tasks without supervision and a lot more tasks with a bit of guidance. I have learnt so many new skills and developed my existing skills.
