  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job title is security liaison, my daily tasks include raising access requests, apprvoign requests and making sure that all access requests are documented correctly, I interact with people across the globe everyday and from multiple different LOBS. Internally I interact with my team regualry throughut the day as although we all work on different taks, we can all help each other. I also work on projects such as learning software licensing keys, hackathons and code clubs.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills such as: - communication (written and verbal) - excel - sharepoint - time keeping - how to document efficiently - python (for an outside of BAU putpose) I regularly take part in internal traing courses online about different business functionalities, practices and tehcnoical skills. I have developed exisiting skills such as organsiation, confidence, Microsoft skils and other soft skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my work, I finid it can be challenging at times but I am able to handle it and I have the support network to be able to tackle issues as they arrive. My team are really friendly and we get along well whcoh makes the day enjoyable. The company culture is very icnlsuive, especially being a woman in technology. It meets and exceeds expecatitons as it is true that you are not made to feel like an apprentice, more like a member of the team.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by J.P. Morgan?
  • My manager has regualar catch ups with me to assess hwo I am doing, wehtehr I am getting on okay and wehtehr I feel my work laod is correcrly balanced. I feel appreciated by my direct UK manager and my abroad managers also make a special effort to get in conatc with me weekly furthering the calue I feel. My team mmeebrs and people I do work for (raise approvals for etc) always make me feel valued. I am often included in tasks, calls and discussions abut topics outside of my job role as it is important I keep learning and meeting new people.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My induction was very well structured, very informative and welcoming. The training I receive is plentiful, there is a lot to learn but it is delivered in an nteresting way and there is always tariging available for whatever uou may wish to learn about. the support is abundant, from internal to external support you can always find someone to asssit you wahatever problem you are facing. it can be hard to balance study and work but the manages are always eager to help where they can and understand the importance of having time to study. I have an internal mentor who I meet regualry so this is good structute, in terms of uni support meetings these also happen regualry and are useful. tasks are delegated epending on skills and time available so this is well organized. overall I would say the programme is very well structured.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Tutors are always available to email or phone call if oyu have any trouble and are always keen to help, whteher this be a expansion wquesiton, udnberstanding question or you don't understand how a question in the assessment is worded. The support is easy to find as the first point of contact would be the email of the current tutor which can always be found n the beginning week of a module. The wider BPP community are also there to help, the apprentice manager sets up regular meetings with us and our managers and is always commenting on how we can reach out to her if we need to bia phone or email. I feel well supported when I have issues.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager is very supportive, the managers here are keen to see you do well and succeed so are always available to help with any issues, wehther this be work study or home related where they can sssit they are willing to and if no thtye more than likely no who can asssit you. I have not had much contact with the HR team so cannot comment. Support is easy to access as there are so many people here someone is bound to have come across the same issue as you at som epoint so either know how to solve or know the process for getting it solved. My internall apprenticeship team is also very helpful as they help with university issues and more personal work issues where necessary. I feel like the support from the bank is really good and is always available.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I live at home so the salary does cover my living costs, however if I didn't have this option I think the appreicnte wage would be difficult to lvie on. Travel costs are eaily affored by my salry, if I couldn't afford the petrol the bus is affordable as well. The food at work is expensive but this issue can be overcome easily by brigning in a packed lunch, this also makes my wage packet go further as I am not wasting money on food. Social costs are covered by the wage packet, they are not priotiy so sometimes sacrifices are made but that is to be expected

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes there are. I am part of the JP netball team outside of work which is really fun. Ther4e are also many other sports clubs that can be joines if you wanted to such as badminton, tennis, running, cycling etc there are work team events (meals out) which are also fun. You can sign up for many different volunteering events outside of the working week theough business resource groups, thes include nature walks, helping clean beaches, raising money for charity etc.

  • 9. Would you recommend J.P. Morgan to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend JPM to a friend as it is a really nice environment to work in, the work load is fair, the work is challenging enough to make it interesting and there are always unexpected circumstances that rise that make each day different. the people are friendly here as well. the location is really nice and the area around is nice.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to J.P. Morgan?
  • I would advise that the application progress is taken seriously, it is a long and hard process but it is not a trick test, the aim is to extract passion and drive from the candidates so this is what I would adivise they try to show. the assessment days are important and it is important ot notice that it is nto always the loudest person that the company want, it is imjprotant ot be involved, jsutfiy yur points and enjoy yourself. I would say just enjoy the process as it is a goo dopportutnutiy to begin brandin gyourself and seeting frost impressions.
