  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On this rotational programme, I spent the last 6 months in GMS Tax working on tools such as Link Enterprise, Business Traveller and GET (Global Equity Tracker) which all assist our clients in ensuring compliance with the tax laws of different jurisdictions as they commence on different trips and assignments. I was part of the team that ran the face of the tools and adhered to different client needs. I have now moved onto a placement in Banking Audit where I am assisting the team with their audit of the subsidiaries of the bank. my tasks involve recalculating tax liabilities, agreeing figures to the P&L, running a tracker for the ongoing client queries and responding to review notes from more senior members of the team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've learned many new skills during my time at KPMG so far. As well as team specific skills such as the tools in GMS and the audit techniques in Audit I have learned many transferable skills. I am now very competent in excel, I am a much more organised person and I've been able to transition into the world of work from school quite easily. I have also been on many training course provided by the firm such as training on making an impact on others and CPR training.
