  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many skill during my time at Unilever including Excel and Powerpoint. I have also done many different training courses like Mental health first aid training and Knowing Me, Knowing you ( which is about inclusion and unconscious bias), although I don't think any of this can compare to what you actually learn on the job such as; networking skills, how to lead meetings/do presentation and also how to be more organised.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my programme and could not recommend it more, what I have valued most is the Unilever put me into a function based on my assessment centre which I would have never imagined myself in but I have loved it since day one. I love my team and I also have gained and amazing social life, I would have never thought I would click with so many people instantly.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Unilever?
  • I feel very valued by Unilever in the sense that I am given a lot of responsibility in the work I do and have been given many opportunities to develop and grow my skills further.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • In my programme I feel the scheme within Unilever is very organised from the selection to on-boarding to the support you are given as you come to the end of you apprenticeship. In terms of training preparation for the exams was all very supported and easy to understand although I have found when beginning the coursework side there is less support and information making it a bit more difficult to move through, Unilever are currently speaking to the training provider to see how more support and structure could be given.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I have a call from my training provider once a month which I do find useful to discuss my progression. I have found the VLE slightly more difficult to get information from and also when having questions about my course work there has been a delay. You are however very supported at the beginning of the programme.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel very supported but my employer as there are many people within my team and outside my team that I am able to speak to if I ever have any issues. Everyone has their line manager who they will work very closely with and usually have weekly catch-ups with, you also have the apprentice delivery team who are always more than happy to help.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I would say you are lucky with the salary and accommodate everything I need within the month. When it comes to travel you are allowed to expense anything away from your base location with reason.

    10/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • In Unilever everyone has access to the gym which includes classes. The apprentices within Unilever have a very strong social lives with a variety of events being organised. I also take part in a softball tournament with the ice cream team.

  • 9. Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Because it is such an amazing development opportunity and I have enjoyed every second of it. I have also made such an amazing friendship group I could not have asked for anything more.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • When it come to the application process I could not stress to be yourself enough as that is how you will be allocated your role and if you pretend to be something your not you could be put into a team that is not suited to you. Also look up the standards of leadership!
