  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job title with Accenture is a Project & Program Management Associate. My day to day role involves a variety of work ranging from the basics of project management to delivering financial management. I interact with many different people across different projects and from many different cities and countries on a daily basis. I have a large amount of responsibility within my role.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • When I started my apprenticeship I had basic IT knowledge. After 1.5 years on my apprenticeship I now have basic programming language skills, learnt from my Degree course provided by the company. I have also massively upskilled in programs such as Microsoft Excel. Accenture provide a large variety of internal training courses which have also allowed me to upskill along the way.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Apprentices with Accenture are valued like any other and have a real sense of community which I think is a huge importance. I enjoy my day to day role more than any previous job I have had before. My current team are already friends I know I will have for life. I had an average expectation of what the programme would be like and it is 100x better than I had ever imagined. I will never look back.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I can't knock the structure of the programme one bit. I recieved 7 weeks of training at the beginning of the programme which covered everything so that we could go in to any job role with basic knowledge of it. I recieve a lot of personal support from my apprentice leadership as well as my team lead. We are given extra study time if needed and I feel comfortable to talk to people if I am ever struggling with managing my study as well as my day to day role.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I recieve a lot of support from the college that provides our programme degree course. We have regular one to one meetings to work through any issues or concerns. I am able to gain support and guidance if needed and the tutor is quick to respond with any queries I have. I enjoy my degree as it is different from my day to day role and allows me to gain technical skills that I can use in the workplace if needed.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager provides me with huge amounts of support and checks on me regularly to make sure i still enjoy my job and if I have any personal problems. I feel comfortable to tell them anything I am struggling or if I feel I am taking too much on. I know the HR team are also excellent however I have not had a personal instance where I have needed their support as of yet.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salarly is generous considering my age and being at apprentice level. I manage easily each month with social and other costs, while being able to save a large amount for future costs such as living.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Accenture offer regular volunteering activities for us to get involved in and ask apprentices specifically to talk in school career days to get young people interested in apprenticeships as many feel it is pressured for you to go to university straight from school. There are regular internal and external community events we can be a part of. There are also outside leisure and sports activities the firm offers which you can get involved in.

  • 9. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would reccomend Accenture to anyone struggling with what they want to do like I was. I came in with little to no knowledge of the company and IT skill and I have adapted and developed so much as a person and now I see a clear path ahead of me and wouldn't change it for anything. Accenture provide a fantastic programme, a full degree at no extra cost, while working on a generous salary.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • Do your research into how the company works and what their goals are and be prepared to show you have knowledge of this before applying. Be interviewed with confidence and good use of communication and express that you are willing to learn. Show your "can do" attitude from the beginning and be professional and presentable.
