  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Ordering and Pre-requisite team dealing with surveys. I have to job control survey orders, where I update and chase for updates on orders. I also am an Operating Continuous Improvement Lead for my team where I look to resolve issues and implement improvements.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have achieved a BQF Lean practitioner qualification for Continuous improvement, before starting this apprenticeship I knew nothing about continuous improvement. I have been attending college and intend to finish my apprenticeship achieving a level 3 in IT and Telecommunications.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme as I am doing the job I will be doing at the end of the programme and receive lots of help. I enjoy having time to do college work and BT support this.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BT?
  • Very valued as they provide lots of training and support for me on the apprenticeship. I get involved in lots on different tasks which are important that makes us feel valued.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think it is very well organised as we receive training for the job to do day to day. We have college days each month to do our NVQ work with our mentors and also have weeks where we will be completing our college work.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We have tutors who we meet with regularly to do our work and check our progress. We receive a lot of support and help if required.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • BT invest in my learning lots by sending me on training courses and support apprentices to learn as much as possible.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is very good which meets my living and travel etc.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes I have been on company events going to schools promoting the apprenticeships and volunteering to do charity work for KEY 103 mission Christmas.

  • 9. Would you recommend BT to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a very good apprenticeship where you can learn a lot and are supported by mentors and BT to do this. Not only will be gaining a qualification, I am an important team member in the delivery of the mobile network and earn a salary whilst learning and working.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • To try their hardest as if successful it is a great apprenticeship to get on and you will learn so much.
