  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Building Services Apprentice Technician, aiding in the production of drawings, using 3d modelling software, such as Revit. I have previously worked Data centres and hospitals.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, i have learnt many skills on a wide range of software. Such as, revit, autocad and dynamo. On top of this i am currently working towards a level 3 btec and NVQ qualifications.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I mostly enjoy the exposure i get to work on big project all across the world. Which furthers my knowledge and experience.

  • I feel valued by my team and manager

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme could be organised better, allowing for more allocated engineering time. Also more clarity on what the Level 6 apprenticeship course entails would be good.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The college of North west london is pretty poor when it comes to teachers/tutors.

  • I receive support and understanding from my manager when it comes to college work.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is good compared to other apprenticeships, with regular increases. However my train fare is quite high, so i dont manage to save much.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes, there are lots of social events, drinking, eating, sports and Christmas parties.

  • 9. Would you recommend Arup to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because its a very good career path.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arup?
  • the whole course is about 6-7 years long of education one day a week.
