  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job role is Personalisation Assistant and I work within the Aftersales department at Vauxhall. My daily tasks include feeding back to our agencies on different creatives, creating point of purchase material for our retailers to use, and tracking accessory sales. I am responsible for doing various accessory reports at the end of every month, also I have taken on other reports for other people in my team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my excel skills very widely and now understand how to do certain formulas. I have also been offered to go on training courses. For example, I went on training course to understand the Vauxhall 'voice'. This has allowed me to be more productive when writing creative briefs for our agencies as I now know the tone of voice to use.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My induction to my apprenticeship was very well organised and structured. It was clear what was going on and what we was doing. I get flexible study days which I organise with my manager which works around both of us. There is a very good mentor system where we can meet up with our mentor as frequently as we want to discuss any issues that we may have. At this current moment in time, we are unaware of what roles are going to available to us in less than 3 months time so we are unable to plan and think about what roles we may wish to go in to.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We have regular contact with our course leader who we can email or have a 1 to 1 Skype session with which is beneficial. We can also have 1 to 1 or group sessions with our module leaders if we need extra help or guidance with the module. However, this is sometimes proven as difficult for someone who doesn't drive as I need to reply on finding transport to the University as well as working around my work commitments since we only go to University once a month.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We receive lots of support from our employer. I have regular 1 to 1 meetings with my manager which occur once a month. I also have mentor meetings which occur every 2 months where I can raise any issues or concerns that I may have. HR communicate emails to us apprentices and inform us of any updates regarding our programme.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary meets my costs as I live close the Vauxhall and it is easily accessible. My salary/ package meets my living costs also. The drinks and food at Vauxhall are reasonably priced which meets my daily costs. The location is great because we are right near a train station and various bus routes.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are various company events and activities to get involved with such as CSR days and Christmas parties. I took part in a CSR day this year which I thoroughly enjoyed. They also offer different activities to take part in after work such as trampolining or rounders in the summer. I have found that there is a large social aspect to Vauxhall which is good because it allows you to meet new people in different departments.

  • 9. Would you recommend Stellantis to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a very friendly and welcoming environment where there is lots of different opportunities to develop and progress throughout the company. Also Vauxhall can provide you with excellent training opportunities to help you with your role. More over, you can develop your role by asking for more or additional work which could even help you in future roles.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Stellantis?
  • I advise future applicants to be confident on the phone on their telephone interview and get an understanding of the company before they have it so that it shows their interest and knowledge. I would also advise before the assessment centre to think of questions to ask the assessor as it shows their enthusiasm for getting the job.
