  • I am an advanced practical apprentice which means I am in more of a practical role. Therefore I am very hands-on every day, even when I am learning in college or theory in the workshop sections.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to create and understand technical drawings, operating drills and lathes and producing parts using hand fitting techniques. I also learnt how to read Assembly Control Records (ACRs) to assemble aircraft engines.

  • It is a very enjoyable programme.

  • We are involved in group discussions and are asked to help improve the programme by taking part in Flightdeck meetings.

  • Not very well.

  • Yes, although I don't participate in them.

  • Yes

  • It is a very enjoyable programme and even if you come here with no prior knowledge you will be taught everything.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce?
  • Be aware for changes to the programme, so you must be flexible.
