Marketing apprentice, focusing on lead generation mainly. Involves being a middle man between sales people and potential customers, identifying who and which business' would benefit from our services. I have been spread across the departments now though, involving content, digital, lead gen and now events. I am in charge of creating many email campaigns for promotions, sometimes contacting thousands of people at once.
I have learnt a lot about workplace etiquette, including how to correctly present myself, to be punctual, how to be personable, polite and how to adapt to my surroundings. Whether it be how i address different people accordingly.
I love every minute of it. My team is fantastic, smart, up for a laugh whilst simultaneously very professional. I am learning more on the job than any course could teach me. Absorbing my surroundings.
Being in a sector within Colt that has less people, really helps you to feel you make an impact and will not slip through any cracks.
The programme itself is great and is run well within Colt House. I would say there is a lot of improvement when it comes to the actual support offered from BPP. Luckily, we have our fellow apprentices that are doing the same course that can offer help when you are stuck. Without them, i'd feel like i was alone for a lot of it.
Barely any.
Lots, whenever i need assistance, my manager and apprentice rep are always there to help.
The salary is good, better than most apprenticeships around the country. It is always a struggle though, with travel, bills, rent and social life. Always end up borrowing money before pay day comes.
Yes within Colt, there are lots of activities and opportunities to go travelling and take part with the rest of the teams.
Yes
The opportunities given, the level of professionalism and the sheer size of the company is one to admire. Fantastic place to work.
Ask questions, don't be shy. Be confident whilst not being arrogant, look the part, be the part. Get your head down, make sure your work is produced at a high level and get it done at a good pace. Good luck.
