  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is a store assistant for my first year as an apprentice. This involves shelf filling, operating the checkouts and maintaining the shop floor alongside providing excellent customer service.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • How to work better under a specified time and how to stick to deadlines more efficiently. Improved my customer service skills and communication skills with other people. Lookikg into some of the skills and traits that a manager has to have e.g. leadership and delegation.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Its a really good program because its set out really clearly for example it tells you what your going to learn year by year and how your going to develop to reach that manager position.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Aldi?
  • Very valued. I feel like im part of a really good team at Aldi and everyone gets on really well so its a great team to work for.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised, i am given set jobs to do while at work and then provided with reasoning into why i have to do these certain jobs and it all reflects back to the manager role that im aiming to achieve at the end.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • She is very good and always there to help with anything. She is easy to talk to and get along with and my managers agree with that too as she has good relationships with them too.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel very comfortable with them and I can ask them anything and not be worried or nervous because they always come up with a solution to anything and are very friendly.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • This is one of the only downfalls because i am only set to 30 hrs a week so my costs at the moment for an 18 year old are quite high so a 40hr contract would be perfect.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I wouldn't say therr are many but there a a fair few e.g. Aldi benifits is really good and can be used in a variety of ways.

  • 9. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Great opportunity for management, good team, fast paced, good pay grade if your a young person e.g 16, growing business.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • To put everything you've got into the application and just be yourself. Don't try and say something your not because Aldi want good honest and hard-working people that will be rewarded for their performance.
