  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My official job title is an Civil Aerospace Fitter. This involves learning about the operation of Aeroplanes and doing manual tasks that will help towards my skills of becoming a competent fitter.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have definitely learned a lot from my time within the workshop and classroom, but I would say the main skill I have developed is my people skills and learning to cope with others, and that is worth more than any degree going.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Although at times I feel exhausted, it is definitely a very exiting and very active workplace that I am happy to be in.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Rolls-Royce?
  • This is one of the places that I feel like the company could improve the program, this is because a lot of the time I and my peers feel like were are powerless, and if e try to change something, it just get pushed under the rug.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The course itself is very well balanced and structured, but the only problem is when something is changed, we are not made aware of this and we are made to find out for ourselves.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • This is a very strong part of the apprenticeship, our Apprentice Development Leader is very involved in our day to day lives, and is always supporting us to do better.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Although we don't receive face to face contact, we receive a lot of emails with encouraging us to keep up and stay strong.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary is definitely enough for what I am required to pay out at this time of my life, but if I was required to pay any more mandatory payments such as Phone Bill or bored.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes, there is a Rolls Royce social club that is always putting on events for the employees.

  • 9. Would you recommend Rolls-Royce to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because it is a very good opportunity, and the company is a very high ranked company, so doing your apprenticeship here will give you that extra edge.

  • be yourself.
