  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as an associate. I have the same role as a graduate, and regularly work with senior people within the firm, as well as having an opportunity to liaise with clients. I work on numerous clients on a plethora of projects, and am responsible for tasks including research and tax analysis.

  • I am working towards my ATT, and Deloitte offers internal courses to help develop my tax professional knowledge/

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It has been good. The company are welcoming, and the people nice. It was beyond my expectations.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Deloitte?
  • I am a member of the team, and feel ike I contribute towards its performance. Internally there are limelights for good performance, and managers often say well done.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is a very structured programme. As deloitte have been taking graduates, they have extended this to brightstarts. They train you with internal courses, and have a buddy system for new entrants. There is good task delegation, and every project has a set structure.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My training provider aims to get me to pass exams, therefore they do not really support me.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Deloitte wants me to succeed. There are lots of people I can talk to, my managers, my performance managers. There is a cluster system which allows me to voice issues in a small group.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • London is expensive, so renting it is expensive, as is going out and commuting.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are many company events, such as chirstmas parties and other yearly functions. We also have hours you can use for community investments. There are other social activities like football and choir.

  • Yes

  • Its welcoming and good for a first job.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte?
  • Its all in the preperation. If you try and apply yourself, the process is very straightforward.
