I am currently in content strategy which involves working on projects that pose to shape the future of the BBC. On a day-to-day basis, I am tasked with analysing information that can subsequently influence decisions about the BBC's future.
I have strengthened my analytical skills, as well as developed my Excel skills. My communication and presentation skills have also developed due to networking with a range of individuals and through having to do presentations as part of university.
I thoroughly enjoy both the work aspect and university aspect of this scheme. Having deadlines from university and work can be very challenging at time, but so far the scheme has provided me with invaluable experience and I can't wait to see what the rest of the programme holds.
I always feel valued. Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming, it really makes you feel at ease! I am always thanked for the work that I do and made to feel like it makes a meaningful contribution to the company.
The programme is very well structured, having the ability to complete an accelerated degree in 2 years as well as having three work placements is great! The scheme could be more organised with regards to mentors as we only received our mentors 6 months into the scheme. Also our college is very unorganised at times, but nothing that can't be solved!
Pearson do not provide as much support as I would wish, however it is difficult for them as we only attend college on a Friday. Revision sessions could be more effective and the talks run could be provided on Fridays instead of in the week when we are at work. Some information surrounding exams and coursework is confusing and misleading so that could be improved.
I receive loads of support from managers, my buddy and colleagues - they are only a message away and are always very reassuring and positive.
Well as I do not live in London and commute to work. However, the cost of transport etc. soon adds up!
Yes, there are events at university to attend.
Yes
It is a great place to work! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The experience gained is invaluable.
Be confident, be yourself (as cliché as that sounds)and have fun!
